Symposium Information
The Pan-Third Pole region, with the Tibetan Plateau as its core, covers East Asia, South Asia, Central Asia and Central and Eastern Europe, covering an area of about 20 million square kilometers, including more than 3 billion people in over 20 countries and regions. The Pan-Third Pole region is the region with the strongest global warming and the greatest uncertainty of future global climate change impacts.


In order to promote the development of plant diversity conservation research in the Pan-Third Pole region, to promote international academic exchanges in this field, and to discuss the future direction of cooperative research, The first International Symposium on the Frontiers of Plant Diversity Conservation Research in the Pan-Third Pole Region will be held in Kunming by STEP from August 28-31, 2023. 


The aim of this international conference is to deepen the scientific research on the frontiers of plant diversity conservation in the Pan-Third Pole region from the regional or even global scale, to understand the plant diversity conservation issues in the Pan-Third Pole region, so as to reveal the rules of plant response to environmental changes in the Pan-Third Pole region, and to explore the green development strategies for the excavation and sustainable use of plant resources in the Pan-Third Pole region in the future.

Experts, scholars and students from related fields in the world are welcome to participate.
